5 STOP PRESS student movement in france
there is at the moment a broad school & university student movement in france against a new "employment law" for workers under 26, which will e.g. de facto strip young workers of their right of joining a union. Hundreds of thousand of university & high school students, supported by some of the unions have demonstrated in the last six weeks against the governments attacks on their rights, nearly all universities are on strike, several of them and some schools are occupied by students. yesterday, the "sorbonne" (oldest university in paris, "french oxbridge" which had been also occupied was violently evicted by the crs (french riot police, much more brutal than their british counterpart)
